    System PulseMeter SNMP Get Test

    SNMP Get Test

Use the SNMP Get test for agentless network administration. With the help of SNMP tests administrators can monitor network devices, including servers, switches, routers, printers, running services, running applications etc.

To setup the SNMP test administrators have to determine managed resource OID - Object Identifier value. System administrator can use MIB browser for viewing and managing available OIDs. System PulseMeter has a built-in MIB browser for convenient MIB files management, or you can choose to download a free MIB browser tool from System Pulse Software Downloads web page.

    SNMP Get Test Properties

"Basic" SNMP Get test properties can be set in the "Test Properties" dialog.

Specific SNMP Get test properties include:

    • "Host" - target host name or IP address.
    • "Port" - the port number of SNMP service at the remote host. The default port value for SNMP tests is set to 161.
    • "Timeout" - adjust this value to change timeout of the SNMP test. Default SNMP test timeout is set to 2.000 milliseconds.
    • "SNMP Profile" - select one of the available SNMP profiles from the list, determining SNMP version and authorization settings. Select the default "Public (default)" profile or create your own profiles. The SNMP profile can be setup in the "SNMP profiles" dialog.
    • "Condition" - test passes when selected conditions are met, fails otherwise. To setup SNMP test condition select a value from MIB browser, by clicking on a value in the "Condition" field. Clicking the condition or compared value will open corresponding dialog for adjusting them.
